Basketball Game Preview: Moline Maroons vs. Sterling Golden Warriors

The Moline Maroons will head out to square off against the Sterling Golden Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Moline's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

On Monday, everything went Moline's way against East St. Louis as Moline made off with an 87-63 victory. The Maroons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sterling ended up a good deal behind Christ the King on Monday and lost 71-52. The Golden Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Moline, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Moline against Sterling in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 77-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moline since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
