Basketball Recap: Travelers Rest Comes Up Short

Travelers Rest lost against Greer back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Travelers Rest Devildogs took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greer Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, the Devildogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 24th).

It was another big night for Amare Anderson, who went 9 of 17 en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals for Greer. Anderson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mikey Williams, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 14 points.

Travelers Rest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Greer, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Travelers Rest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-43 loss against Daniel on the 7th. As for Greer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 103-56 victory against Pickens on the 7th.
