Softball Recap: Eau Claire Comes Up Short

Eau Claire had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it nine. They lost 18-2 to the River Valley Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 on Tuesday.

As for River Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Considering they have won four games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For River Valley's part, they got a massive performance out of Johnna Rochefort, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Lydia Habel was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Eau Claire didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Berrien Springs on the 24th. As for River Valley, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-6 defeat against Fennville on the 24th.
