Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Eaglecrest

The Liberty Lancers are taking a road trip to take on the Eaglecrest Raptors at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Liberty's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Liberty was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pueblo West a 1-0 shutout. AJ Parra had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Liberty.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eaglecrest). They beat Smoky Hill by a goal, winning 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Eaglecrest as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 8-4-2. As for Eaglecrest, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-3 and their overall record up to 2-9-3.
