Basketball Recap: Wes-Del Skates Past Southern Wells with Ease

Wes-Del posted their biggest victory since December 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They really took it to the Southern Wells Raiders for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-34 win. With the Warriors ahead 30-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

It was another big night for Josiah Love, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 23 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Wes-Del's points. Another player making a difference was Julian Carpenter, who went 7-for-13 en route to 16 points and four steals.

Love wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Wes-Del was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Southern Wells' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Aulbach, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Johnson, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Wes-Del's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12. As for Southern Wells, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
