Basketball Recap: Amite's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Amite had to endure a 15-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past the Springfield Bulldogs with a 58-52 win on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in January, they had to take a 69-42 loss.

Springfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Da'Shaun Goss, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Goss has become a key player for Springfield: the team is 12-6 when he posts at least ten boards, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dequane Davis, who posted 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Amite's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-23. As for Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Amite has already played their next match (against East Jefferson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-45 win against Riverside Academy on the 30th.
