Volleyball Recap: Alta Starts Season with Victory Against Wasatch

Alta took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wasatch Wasps 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won four matchups in a row dating back to last season.

Alta was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (101-99), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 13-25, 15-10.

Jayden Roberts paced Alta's offense, picking up 19 kills. Roberts got some help from Jameson Biggs and his 45 assists. Finally, Kaleb Puikkonen kept Alta's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Alta will take on Westlake in a tournament on Friday. As for Wasatch, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Olympus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
