Softball Recap: Williamson Marauders vs. Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles
Williamson extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They took a 20-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles. Even if the Marauders couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
As for Clyde-Savannah, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
For Clyde-Savannah's part, Rori Hickok was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits Hickok has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Drahms, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Williamson will square off against Sodus at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clyde-Savannah, they will head out on the road to take on Penn Yan Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.57 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
