Basketball Recap: Parshall Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Parshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 66-54 to the Surrey Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Mustangs are ranked 29th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surrey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laney Will, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points. Will has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ava Keller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards.

Parshall's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-16. As for Surrey, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Parshall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-69 defeat against Westhope/Newburg on the 3rd. As for Surrey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-45 victory against Bishop Ryan on the 3rd.
