Softball Recap: Jim Thorpe Comes Up Short

Jim Thorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Saucon Valley Panthers.

Jim Thorpe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Schwartz, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Schwartz hit this season.

Jim Thorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Saucon Valley, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jim Thorpe will venture away from home to challenge Southern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Olympians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Saucon Valley, they will head out to face off against Lehighton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
