Recap: Parkwood Wolf Pack vs. Monroe Redhawks
The Parkwood Wolf Pack had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Monroe and snuck past 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Parkwood has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron McKinney, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. McKinney is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Paulhill, who scored 14 points along with five assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Monroe still got an impressive performance from Kaegan Chambers, who scored 13 points. Zavion Ivey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Parkwood's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkwood will take on Piedmont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Parkwood likes a good challenge. As for Monroe, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central Academy at 7:30 p.m. Central Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
