Volleyball Game Preview: Syracuse Titans vs. Farmington Phoenix

The Syracuse Titans will head out to take on the Farmington Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Syracuse won the last time they faced Layton, and Talon Morris did his part to make sure it happened again. The Titans came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Morris, who had eight digs and three blocks. He is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 18 or more in each of the last 16 games he's played.

While Syracuse might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Layton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Farmington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Weber 3-0 on Tuesday.

Farmington got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-16, 25-23.

Farmington has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Syracuse, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5.

Syracuse couldn't quite get it done against Farmington in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
