Baseball Recap: Mountain Pine Comes Up Short

If Mountain Pine was feeling good fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Caddo Hills last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain Pine Red Devils fell just short of the Spring Hill Bears by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Red Devils' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Aidan Putman was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Joey Eads was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Mountain Pine's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Spring Hill, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Coming up, Mountain Pine is taking a road trip to challenge Cutter-Morning Star at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spring Hill, they will square off against Mineral Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
