Baseball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland suffered their biggest loss since May 5, 2025 on Thursday. They lost 11-5 to the Mid Valley Spartans. The defeat continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.

David Naniewicz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Kody Miller was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mid Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Lakeland will challenge Carbondale Area at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mid Valley, they will take on Holy Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
