Volleyball Recap: Marietta Comes Up Short

After flying high against Etowah on Wednesday, Marietta came back down to earth. The Blue Devils lost 3-0 to the Walton Raiders on Thursday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Leading Walton to victory were Janie Myers and Ella Cobb. Myers had nine digs and two aces, while Cobb had seven digs and one assist. Myers is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Marietta's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Walton, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-6.

As of now, neither Marietta nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
