Basketball Game Preview: Milford Spartans vs. Souhegan Sabers

Milford and Souhegan are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Milford Spartans will head out to square off against the Souhegan Sabers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Milford will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Merrimack Valley, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Milford pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Merrimack Valley on Friday. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Souhegan, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past ConVal, posting a 54-13 victory. The Sabers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The win made it two in a row for Milford and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Souhegan, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Everything went Milford's way against Souhegan when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Milford made off with a 54-34 win. Does Milford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Souhegan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
