Recap: Paradise Honors Panthers vs. Dysart Demons
The Paradise Honors Panthers came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Dysart out 53-50. Given Paradise Honors' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Dysart is ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Morgan Van Dyke was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 27 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Perez, who scored seven points.
Paradise Honors has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Dysart, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paradise Honors will take on Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Yuma is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Dysart, they will be playing at home against Tempe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
