Lakeland's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3. As for Churubusco, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Lakeland took their win against Churubusco in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 13-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
