Basketball Game Preview: Limestone Rockets vs. Normal West Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Limestone Rockets will get right back to it and host the Normal West Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Wednesday, Limestone came up short against Washington and fell 53-41. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Normal West suffered their biggest loss since December 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Morton, falling 48-27. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Limestone's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Normal West, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14.

Limestone was able to grind out a solid victory over Normal West in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 60-47. Does Limestone have another victory up their sleeve, or will Normal West turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
