Baseball Recap: Clover Garden School Wins Going Away Against Southern Wake Academy

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Clover Garden School and Southern Wake Academy, and Clover Garden School kept the tradition alive. The Grizzlies blew past the Lions 11-1 on Wednesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Gabe Kistler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Clover Garden School got a big performance out of Gavin Phillips, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave Phillips a new career-high. Ethan Saunders was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Clover Garden School's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Southern Wake Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clover Garden School beat the Lions by a score of 13-2 later that day.
