Basketball Recap: Wilmot Comes Up Short

Wilmot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 78-51 loss at the hands of the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.

Brody Scharlemann was nothing short of spectacular for Great Plains Lutheran: he went 8 for 17 on his way to 23 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Scharlemann has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hayden Karli, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Wilmot's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Great Plains Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmot will head out to take on Langford at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Great Plains Lutheran, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers challenge the Arlington Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
