Basketball Game Preview: Huntsville Panthers vs. Sparkman Senators

Huntsville hasn't had much luck against Sparkman recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huntsville Panthers will square off against the Sparkman Senators at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Huntsville took on Grissom on Friday. Huntsville beat Grissom by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 39-37. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Tigers are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sparkman came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Grissom 63-29 on Tuesday.

Sparkman's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. As for Huntsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-12.

Huntsville was dealt a bruising 67-30 loss at the hands of Sparkman in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Huntsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
