Baseball Recap: Magee Comes Up Short

Magee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 10-3 to the Pelahatchie Chiefs. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chiefs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Magee saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braelyn Hall, who went 4-for-5 with one run. Trenton Cowen was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Pelahatchie, the victory got them back to even at 2-2-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Pelahatchie's side, Chase Parker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Parker has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magee will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Raymond at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.83 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pelahatchie, they will square off against Park Place Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
