Volleyball Recap: Moriarty Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Moriarty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Belen Eagles, falling 3-0. The Pintos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Moriarty ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-19.

Michaela Dunn paced Moriarty's offense, picking up seven kills. Dunn got some help from Lily Shelby and her eight assists. Payten Butler controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shyla Rocha, who had 19 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Rocha has posted since back in October of 2024. Khloee Padilla was another key player, getting 18 assists and six digs.

Moriarty's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Belen, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Moriarty has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Portales on the 26th. As for Belen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Pojoaque Valley on the 25th.
