Baseball Recap: Ilwaco's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

Ilwaco has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.22 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the Adna Pirates, falling 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Fishermen have suffered since May 7, 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ilwaco fell to 8-1. As for Adna, the win keeps they at an undefeated 14-0.

Ilwaco and Adna should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Fishermen will square off against North Beach at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (55 vs. 305). Meanwhile, Adna (ranked 44th) will meet Pe Ell/Willapa Valley (ranked 136th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 1.1, Pe Ell/Willapa Valley 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
