Baseball Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs.

Simon Riedel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cooper Hanks, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two RBI.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-6 loss against Washington Latin Public Charter School on the 19th. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, they will host St. Charles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Maryland Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: St. Charles has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
