Basketball Recap: Mckinley Has No Trouble Against Westerville Central

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for McKinley on Sunday. They took down the Westerville Central Warhawks 71-52.

Mya Taylor had a dynamite game, shooting 55% from the field on her way to 39 points along with eight boards and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of McKinley's points. Another player making a difference was Kana Beltz, who posted five points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

McKinley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Westerville Central, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

McKinley and Westerville Central will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. McKinley will take on rival Green at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Westerville Central is set to square off against their familiar foe New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
