Softball Recap: Legacy Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Victory

Legacy came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Clark Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-2 back in March.

Elena Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madison Castellon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Beebe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Legacy pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clark, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6-1.
