Football Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. Windermere Prep Lakers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Academy). They took down the Windermere Prep Lakers 38-20 on Friday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 70-44 defeat the Lakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2014.
Cason Cherry had a dynamite game for First Academy, throwing for 195 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 31 yards and a touchdown. Cherry also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending two passes. Nathan Pruett was another key player, picking up 56 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Windermere Prep, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4-1.
