Basketball Game Preview: West Side Eagles vs. Valley Springs Tigers

The West Side Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Valley Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in West Side's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

West Side is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Mt. Vernon-Enola, falling 79-55. The Eagles have struggled against the Warhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Valley Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Bergman and fell 86-53. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Panthers are ranked 18th).

West Side's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Valley Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-20.

West Side didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Valley Springs when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 90-84 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Side since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
