Recap: Blair Blazers vs. Paint Branch Panthers
The Blair Blazers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 35-19 to Paint Branch. Blair was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Paint Branch apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Despite the loss, Blair still got an impressive performance from Quinn Stofa, who threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Stofa was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
Roman Spikes was a one-man wrecking crew for Paint Branch as he rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns. Markeith Hines also helped out as he racked up 128 rushing yards.
Blair's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Paint Branch, Walter Johnson, and Einstein. As for Paint Branch, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Blair will be playing at home against Blake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Blake is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Paint Branch, they will head out on the road to face off against Bethesda-Chevy Chase at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Bethesda-Chevy Chase is ranked 83rd, while Paint Branch is ranked 100th).
