Baseball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

If Riverside was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Houston on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell just short of the Miami East Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Miami East, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Riverside will face off against Mechanicsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.9, the Indians 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Miami East, they will host St. Henry at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
