Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Elks vs. Springboro Panthers

The Centerville Elks will head out on the road to face off against the Springboro Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Centerville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.

Centerville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Beavercreek, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Centerville was ranked ninth). The Elks narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Beavers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Elks have posted against the Beavers since April 21, 2022.

Springboro came out on top against Wayne on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Panthers blew past the Warriors 13-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Centerville's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Springboro, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Centerville might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Springboro in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Elks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
