Recap: Summit Academy Dragons vs. Romulus Eagles
The Summit Academy Dragons entered their tilt with the Romulus Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Summit Academy came out on top against Romulus by a score of 17-8 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Summit Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Romulus had strong showings from Lamar Mallard, who gained 111 total yards, and Torrence Searcy, who threw for 58 yards and a touchdown. Mallard was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Summit Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-11 Annapolis (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.9% over those games). As for Romulus, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Summit Academy will head out on the road to face off against Flat Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Romulus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
