Volleyball Recap: Tolman Wins Going Away Against North Smithfield

After losing to North Smithfield the last time they met, Tolman decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers put the hurt on the Northmen with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-13, 25-19.

Hayson Ortiz paced Tolman's offense, picking up 15 kills. Ortiz got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 31 assists. Fernando Baptista and Bara Diop kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Tolman's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for North Smithfield, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tolman will square off against Taunton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taunton will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Tolman surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Smithfield, they will take on Classical at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
