Volleyball Recap: Tucumcari Comes Up Short

Tucumcari had taken Dexter down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Rattlers fell 3-1 to the Demons. The Rattlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Demons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Tucumcari started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.

Kaellie Vandenbout went supernova For Dexter., getting nine kills and eight aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily DeLaRosa, who had three digs and two aces.

Tucumcari suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Dexter, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tucumcari will take on Corona in a tournament on Friday. As for Dexter, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Loving at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
