Softball Recap: Peninsula Catholic Has No Trouble Against Pallotti

While Peninsula Catholic didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Pallotti Panthers 10-0 on Wednesday. Considering the Knights have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Quinn Freakley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Addison Dent was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Autumn Baker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Peninsula Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Peninsula Catholic's record now sits at 6-2. As for Pallotti, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1-1.

Looking ahead, Peninsula Catholic will be playing at home against Hampton Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pallotti, they will head out on the road to take on Cape Henry Collegiate at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pallotti's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cape Henry Collegiate has averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
