Soccer Game Preview: Elgin vs. Hendrickson

Elgin is 1-9 against Hendrickson since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Hendrickson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Elgin, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Elgin was able to grind out a solid victory over Bastrop, taking the game 3-1. Elgin haven't had any issues with Bastrop recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Hendrickson fell victim to Coppell and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Cowboys. While losing is never fun, Hendrickson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Coppell are ranked third).

Elgin now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Hendrickson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Elgin came up short against Hendrickson when the teams last played back in February of 2025, falling 4-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
