Basketball Recap: Rocket City Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ella Turney and Allegra Borchers

Rocket City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-32 heartbreaker at the hands of Providence Classical. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-29 back in December of 2024.

Rocket City's loss came despite strong showings from Allegra Borchers and Ella Turney. Borchers almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 28 rebounds, while Turney posted eight points along with eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Borchers a new career-high in rebounds. Lily Trotter was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Rocket City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Providence Classical, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Rocket City has already played their next contest (against Tennessee Heat), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Providence Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
