Statesboro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets by a score of 21-10. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 23-18 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Statesboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keon Childers led the charge by rushing for 141 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Beckham Jarrard, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Statesboro will take on Veterans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Bulloch, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Islands at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. This will be the Yellow Jackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
