Baseball Recap: Ironton Fighting Tigers vs. Graham Local Falcons

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ironton can now relate to. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Graham Local Falcons on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Fighting Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ian Ginger was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Ginger wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Hughes, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
