Baseball Recap: Alamosa Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Alamosa dropped their record down to 9-10 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Centauri Falcons by a score of 11-10. If the Mean Moose were looking for revenge after losing 17-15 to the Falcons when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jonah Pittman put in work no matter where he played. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Pittman was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carlos Garcia and Jaidyn Burciaga stepped up to the plate in a big way. Garcia got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one triple, while Burciaga got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Alamosa is 4-1 when Burciaga posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nelson Arambula, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

As for Centauri, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On Centauri's side, Leland Chacon was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Buhr, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

While Alamosa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
