Football Recap: Davidson Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Nashville Christian + How To Watch

Davidson Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Nashville Christian Eagles. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 33-17 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ridge Holman threw for 79 yards on 13 of 26 attempts. Mason Pratt was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Wilks Biggs rushed for 83 yards.

TJ Ward went supernova For Nashville Christian., rushing for 194 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ward showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Jared Curtis, who threw for 247 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davidson Academy will square off against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nashville Christian, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Ensworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
