Recap: Richmond Hill Wildcats vs. Grayson Rams
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Richmond Hill Wildcats can now relate to. They fell 34-24 to Grayson on Friday. Richmond Hill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Richmond Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nick Bliss. Despite the final result, he rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 91 receiving yards. Bliss was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
Grayson was led to victory by John Cineas and Jeff Davis. Cineas picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Davis threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes.
Richmond Hill bumped their record down to 5-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Grayson, Colquitt County, and Camden County. As for Grayson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Richmond Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grayson will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Paulding at 7:30 p.m. North Paulding will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
