Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. Phoenix Country Day Eagles

The Heritage Academy Heroes will challenge the Phoenix Country Day Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Heritage Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 68-58 win over Arete Prep.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Country Day put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Glendale Prep Academy 66-48. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Griffins are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Phoenix Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Heritage Academy skirted past Phoenix Country Day 56-54 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Will Heritage Academy repeat their success, or does Phoenix Country Day have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
