Basketball Game Preview: Fairfax Lions vs. South County Stallions

Fairfax and South County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Fairfax Lions will welcome the South County Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfax will be strutting in after a win while South County will be coming in after a defeat.

Fairfax will bounce into Friday's contest after beating West Springfield, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Fairfax walked away with a 50-42 victory over West Springfield on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Spartans are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, South County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 55-44 to West Potomac.

Fairfax's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for South County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
