Softball Recap: Axtell Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Axtell and Rio Vista squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Axtell had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Axtell is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8-1. As for Rio Vista, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Axtell beat the Eagles by a score of 23-1 on Friday.
