League recap: Simon Kenton extends winning streak with victory over Dixie Heights

Simon Kenton extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 6 this week by beating Dixie Heights, 31-19. This was the team's 12th consecutive win.

Boone County made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,757 from 8,046.

Simon Kenton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brenan Kuntz threw for 184 and 1 touchdown and Logan Winkler had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Dillion Powell chipped in 111 yards. Grant Wassom helped Simon Kenton's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 55 yards.

Powell was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 111 yards as jeff marksberry's team beat the Colonels. Kuntz also contributed to the rushing game with 84 yards on the ground.

Simon Kenton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kuntz has thrown for 2,341 yards and 30 touchdowns this season, while Wassom has 48 catches for 771 yards. Kuntz also leads the league in rushing with 904 yards.

Kuntz of the the Pioneers is only 96 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 154 carries Kuntz has put up 904 yards this year.

Simon Kenton led 6A District 6 in scoring this week by notching 31 points on Dixie Heights. Kuntz ran for 84 yards in the win.
