Baseball Recap: Schroon Lake Takes a Loss

Schroon Lake lost against Bolton Central on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nathan Melville made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Schroon Lake's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

Schroon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Bolton Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Schroon Lake will face off against rival Johnsburg Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bolton Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Boquet Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
