Football Recap: Veterans Starts Season with Loss at Home

Veterans unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 34-12 to the Jones County Greyhounds on Friday. If the Warhawks were looking for revenge after losing 41-26 to the Greyhounds when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The critical scores for Jones County came from Fuller Ayjuan, Kaden Canty, Jr Clark, and Andre Hall.

Coming up, Veterans will welcome Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jones County, they will venture away from home to square off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Greyhounds their first taste of in-conference action this season.
